Stream of Consciousness is a body of work that explores the ebb and flow of my consciousness.
Most of them were taken during a period of immense stress, juggling school and, at some point, three jobs.
Photography was the only way I knew how to relax; it was this strange hobby that I found myself in, all because someone on YouTube said it would be a good idea to have a film camera, something about nostalgia.
They were right, loading my first roll of film brought back vivid flashbacks from my childhood back in Nigeria that I would have rather not remembered, yet the unforgiving nature of it brought me joy.
It allowed me to view and move through the world with the curiosity of a kid again! I didn't feel so tense anymore.
My paranoia from living in a dangerous environment back home started to fade gently, and I could sleep more deeply,
walk more heavily, take up space, and move around the world without constantly watching my back.
This newfound peace from this newfound hobby unknowingly also allowed me to process emotions and moral dilemmas
that I haven't been able to process because I had always been in survival mode. It brought up ambivalence I have towards
things that have been shoved down my throat when I was more impressionable.
This book is all of that and then some.
I believe this book is ordained by faith or whatever it is you believe or don't believe in. I never set out to make it,
But here we are!
